Dan has a passion for life and from the age of six has captured the vitality of the world with his camera. He earned his degree in Photography and Multimedia at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, was certified as a Professional Photographer by Professional Photographers of America and is an award winning portrait artist. Dan and his wife Nancy created Kon Studio of Photography, Inc. where he has been capturing the essence of clients and their pets, as well as professionally photographing products and events, for over 33 years.
Dan has a love for all animals and is known as the Cat Whisperer. He has trapped more than 20 feral cats, tamed them, and found forever homes for all of them. Being bluff charged by a startled black bear in his backyard reinforced his respect for another sentient being that chose to warn rather than attack.
Dan signed up to monitor the 2015 Florida bear hunt, but instead, along with his wife Nancy, was called to coordinate ‘Bear Monitors’ throughout the state. Together, they managed the control center where Dan collected and categorized hundreds of images that came pouring in from bear hunt monitors during the hunt. He and Nancy were instrumental in shortening the week-long bear hunt to just two days.
Dan has assumed many positions including Director, Electronics Department Manager, Web Master and Big Ticket Store Manager. Always in search of knowledge, Dan has attended sales, management, photography and Photoshop educational events where he learns to stay ahead of the ever changing world of electronics. He is currently on the Advisory Board for Keiser University in Orlando and teaches classes and seminars for photography, photoshop and photography businesses.
