Julia Sable, PhD, MFA
Julia Sable is a science communicator and educator with ten years of experience working in science museums. She earned a PhD in Geology and Geophysics from University of Hawaii – Manoa and an MFA in Science and Natural History Filmmaking from Montana State University – Bozeman. Having spent parts of her life in the Rockies, Hawaii, and New England, she enjoyed learning about the unique ecosystems and indigenous species of those regions. In 2016 Dr. Sable moved to Melbourne to become Education Project Manager at the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS). She started learning about Florida’s natural systems and got involved with Imagine Our Florida after becoming concerned that human activities are damaging the wetlands, scrublands, and coasts. We can’t prevent people from affecting the environments where they live, but we can minimize the negative impacts through smart planning and management.
