Spiderwort
Spiderwort, Tradescantia ohiensis, is a native Florida wildflower that grows in wetlands and disturbed areas and is commonly found in Florida yards.
Spiderwort, a clumping perennial, appears in the spring and flowers and produces seeds through mid-summer. Blue, purple, or white flowers grow in clusters on stems with grass-like leaves. The flowers last only until midday.
Spiderwort attracts pollinators and is recognized by pollination ecologists as attracting large numbers of native bees.
